@christianselig LOL. Just had this experience yesterday. My research discovery is that you can buy rubber refills instead of the whole blade. Much cheaper.

I love that glass blowing show on Netflix but the work is so varied and personal and prone to destroying itself it’s artificially cruel to kick someone off each week. Why not keep every artist every week and the finals are the top three throughout with the most wins?

The guy that dropped his piece in week one could have made something incredible in week 5 but the audience will never see it.

@mathowie My daughter and I have been watching Lego Masters recently, and there was an episode where one team member gets sick and can’t continue. It was an “elimination” episode so the outcome was inevitable but heartbreaking for the remaining team member (who soldiered on, but 😞)

I’m sure there are “reasons” why they don’t do it, but I do like your suggested approach much better.

@daringfireball I don’t doubt that they’re more accurate than when we were kids. But I can open 5 different weather apps and get 5 different forecasts. They’re still not great.

“But Epic broke the rules” is not a defense of Apple’s behavior. As per the EC, Apple’s developer agreement contains clauses that are now and always have been illegal. Epic ‘broke’ the terms of an illegal contract in order to, among other things, test its legality in court and in regulation. We have our answer now: Apple’s terms were illegal. Epic was right to break them. I care nothing for how much money Epic makes, how its leadership tweets, or how Epic’s deals with console makers are worded

@daringfireball @gruber Maybe if I lived alone I could justify spending $3500 to make movies and games “more fun”.

But with a family of 5 I’m neither able nor willing to spend over $17k to have “more fun”. Part of the fun of family movie night/gaming is interacting with my family. Strapping a computer to your face is the antithesis of that.
