#nifnotabirthdayparty one thing about these episodes that i really like is what it shows us about nihuang and jingyan’s relationship. when talking to her, he’s definitely frosty at best BUT when she’s in danger he’s ready to kick down a door and commit borderline treason in front of dozens of witnesses

#nifnotabirthdayparty part of it is his personality (honor but no brains) and that he hates everyone in the palace and is in a permanent state of “just try me i dare you” but it is extreme lengths to go to for a women who was engaged to your best friend 13 years and who you ostensibly now barely talk to

#cdrama i just started wrong carriage, right groom and i must say its off to a great start. so far the female leads had a meet-cute in a temple on the day of their respective weddings and spent the whole time cooing about how pretty the other was, then they exchanged jewelry and became “sworn sisters” by bowing to the temple statue

the thing about is that as narrators both jinshi and maomao, but particularly maomao, give the APPEARANCE of objectivity but are in fact wildly unreliable. however, they are only wildly unreliable about their own feelings.
