As mentioned in my article on tags, I favor tags over custom properties. So recently, I've been cleaning up an old custom property for Campaign and replacing it with a nested tag: campaign/{campaign-abbreviation}. You can see an example in this image.

Lastly, two ways I've handled embedded secrets within notes (knowledge that I have as the GM but players don’t yet).

  1. HTML comments. Keeps it right within the note and won't render in read mode or on a website! I'm tending to prefer this method.

  2. Linked previews. This abstracts secrets into their own notes but renders a preview in the related note. This works great with tools like Obsidian publish because they won't show up if you don't publish the secret's note.

High level play is a hot-button topic for 5E as well as previous editions of #DnD. Few groups experience it. Most complain that the game falls apart. Others lament the “lack of support” for high level play. I’d argue that with small changes to our mental models around high level play, we can solve the most painful problems that arise and focus on what shines: the story that develops at the table.

I am working on ridding myself of the part of my mind that has been so poisoned by "hustle-culture" and all that nonsense that leads to me being ashamed of those creative or artistic endeavors that do not end up earning any money (or have no potential for it).

Stopped me from writing for years. Kept me from indulging in story telling and even reading.

@Imperor It’s unfortunately a mindset that our environments tend to encourage. So I think step 1 is giving yourself some grace.

I left Facebook in 2019. That helped. I left Twitter when bozo bought it. That REALLY helped.

Work on the things that make you happy and energize you.

Blaze your own path. Don’t compare your stuff to others.

Social algorithms and clicks aren’t good for your wellbeing or creativity. Ignore them as much as possible.

Become your own biggest fan.

How many different vaults are you using? Is everything in one mega vault, or do you split it around?

What's your system?

I'm looking to organize my stuff a bit better. At the moment I have one for my DnD stuff and one for my YT/Twitch/Private stuff.

I'm not entirely certain if this is the most efficient way of doing things.

We got a preview of 2024 #DnD backgrounds and there's a major change coming.
But all the focus from the presentation has been on new products and schedules rather than the further reduction of story in WotC backgrounds

We had our session zero for our #DnD5E Nentir Vale campaign about 36 hours ago. Since it ended, I have been getting Discord messages non-stop from 3-4 players as they continue to tie their backstories to the setting and each other.

This campaign has the hype. Time to deliver on it.
