opinion: it should be forbidden to use the word 'buy' for anything that is a time-limited license.

If your business model is paying every month/year, the word to use is 'rent'

You're not buying a domain and you're not buying a software license (that has to be renewed every x time)

Birthdays are coming up and my eldest wants a walkie talkie to chat with her sister in the weekend.
But since they are 60km apart during the week I'm thinking of a dedicated PTT device that connects them over the internet (wifi connection).
No smartphone since the youngest isn´t always allowed t have her phone in the dorm room.

So, tips welcome.

Apparently my employer enrolled me in some kind of phishing training.

So when the invite came, I dropped whatever I was doing, opened my mail client, and created a rule to drop their mails in the bin.

I wanted to watch a short clip before going to bed very early (I need to get up at 5:30 to drive my daughter to the ballet school in Antwerp), and then Youtube played a trick on me and suggested this video.

I think this is the first blonde beer I tried that has a lot of alcohol and a lot of taste.

Normally I stay clear of strong blonde beers because their focus on the alcohol ruins the taste.

Not this one. Must buy more of them.

for a disabled person I'm looking for an mp3 player with speaker that only has an on/off button and volume knob, nothing else: press on and it plays a fixed playlist (memory card,...). No streaming.

6 years ago we did some extensive home improvements for proper insulation but also to have proper bedrooms for the kids.

Our youngest (then 6) was into dancing and because the cost was reasonable I got a big mirror installed on one side (with a barre).

Fast forward to this afternoon, where she was rehearsing in front of that mirror for her first dance exams this week at the royal ballet school 🤞

A friend wants to use Splitwise to sort out who's paying what for a holiday. I've read their privacy policy and I don't like it one bit - "personal details used for advertising and may be passed abroad where anything can be done with them".
If it were up to me, then a shared spreadsheet would be fine, but I wondered if anybody knows of and can recommend a FOSS alternative?
