Unfortunately, getting to that point is almost guaranteed. While I’m not advocating it, I just don’t see how a peaceful resolution to this issue is possible at this point.
The people with the power to fix it peacefully directly benefit from things being the way they are, and they’ve been rigging the game so replacing them with someone who wants to do the right thing is nearly impossible.
The question is how far will the 99% have to be pushed before the violence starts.
They don’t really go into the size of the organoid, but it’s extremely doubtful that it’s large and complex enough to get anywhere close to consciousness.
There’s also no guarantee that a lump of brain tissue could ever achieve consciousness, especially if the architecture is drastically different from an actual brain.
Now now, my city councilman is named Chad, and he’s fucking awesome. He even joined our neighborhood Facebook group chat and responds almost immediately to issues (like reporting to the city engineers when water pressure drops).
The GOP has been fighting a war against our educational system for about 70+ years. Add to that the fact that most of these people have been voting R for generations, so it’s basically like a religion to them.
