'haha, losers still using windows'

Sighs in industry art software. No wonder a lot of artists don't want to be here. Jesus.

Nothing like victim blaming to make my day better.

@batichi A few weeks ago I was talking to someone on discord about the need for some folks to switch to Linux once Windows 12 rolls around. He's a Linux user and preacher but even he admitted that the problem with Linux is that it's not friendly to artists (or basically, normal people) because the folks behind it made it for similarly-minded people, not for everyone outside of it.

He said (paraphrased) it would be great if more artists would use Linux, so that way the field could have more people with a "programmer and artist brain" and make Linux better. But he knows it's hard for that to happen.

I tell you, if more people were like him, we would have the equivalent of world peace in these spaces :akko_badday:

(whines) when I see an interesting anthology open for submissions and they not only want a pitch, but a completed comic already to submit and try to get accepted... :zerotwo:

I've done that a couple of times, which is how I have some shorts in the first place. But I don't have the energy or time to do that anymore, especially when it's a coin toss on whether I get accepted or not. I always get rejected, so not only did I do extra work but I don't get paid (as being accepted means """""possibly"""" getting paid.)

And as someone getting increasingly more desperate for a paying job, I really don't want to do "free" work for anthologies anymore...

One of the most recent collabs I've had the pleasure of doing! This was done for @aradiacollective 's (free) summer zine last year, appropriately titled "Summer in Aradia!"

https://aradiacollective.itch.io/summer-in-aradia

The characters come from "XII: Of Magic & Muses" (and its sequel, "Of Rogues & Remnants") by @batichi , who also drew the entire thing. I simply colored the whole dang thing! :blobfoxartist:

You can check out both her comics here: https://xiicomic.com/

So the latest 'woke' issue in gaming is that in Hades II, Hermes looks Asian. I'm guessing it was a choice by the American studio to include more racial diversity in their latest game. The Greek Gods in the first game were designed more generically white.

I mean, an 'Asian deliveryman' as the Herald of the gods sounds totally racist when placed a different context too.

Sigh, all these kinds of decisions are beyond me. It kinda breaks the immersion a bit, but it's a fantasy game in an 'alternate Greek world', why can't people have fun race bending characters? It's not like being white was critical to the plot or gameplay. It's all just flavor text to the game.

@anianimalsmoe just wait till these people find out how Jesus is portrayed in different countries because the people see themselves in him, oh noooooo

Honestly, people are just wanting to complain about anything now for engagement bait or because they have friendless lives. (Or their mother never hugged them enough, idk.) Your Asian deliveryman small "crit" holds much more water, as it's thoughtful.

I thought the main character in the first one was some flavor of non-white too xD He didn't look white to me ^^;
