Someone big doing this has been such an inevitable development but it has taken so long! With #WASM now included in standards and supported in pretty much every browser there is an opportunity to treat the browser as the target platform abstraction for high performance stuff like #games. And there is nothing the actual underlying OS can do to gatekeep that content without breaking the web!

While content is federated currently, isn’t. @deadsuperhero Another great post! I'd wandered through the landscape of these projects on my own, but with a lot of head-scratching and uncertainty. This really brought it together and made it accessible.

Mastopod is a really promising proof-of-concept and I hope it gets more attention going forward; it'll be much easier to prove the value of this architecture if it can tap into the network-effect of the biggest ActivityPub community!

@Migueldeicaza Yes, the later in the day you do your first lesson Monday, the more likely you are to be lumped in a league with fellow slackers, which makes the rest of the week easier, you just have to do your daily quests and you're definitely going to stay in that league and maybe move up. If you do your first lesson at breakfast Monday, you're screwed.

@Migueldeicaza Oh and: Never do the gold level for any lesson unless you're in a double-XP window. And if you're learning a language with a non-Western glyph set (eg Kanji or Cyrillic or Hebrew), do a ton of those during double-XP windows too... They aren't worth as much XP as other lessons but you can do them about 5x faster.
