Some time ago I started making faceplate PCBs for @chipperdoodles Anwaar platform. It is such a great idea focusing on the faceplates and reusing all the battery/controller/charging part. Getting creative and sharing your work is so easy and accessible. Can't wait until the @crowdsupply campaign starts and we hopefully see and share our Anwaar faceplate PCBs at all the cons (link in the thread).
This one has 30 charlieplexed 0402 LEDs forming a caffeine molecule.
Here is a close-up video from my Hackaday Europe tiny badge hack. I put tiny addressable LEDs behind every hole of the expansion header and an acrylic diffuser on top with some laser engraved logos. Super happy how it turned out! It was an awesome event! #hackadayberlin#hackadayeurope
Just to see what's possible, I glued 18 WS2812B-1010 LEDs to the edge of a scrap PCB to get an addressable LED strip with a density of 900 LEDs/m. They are slightly larger than 1x1mm, so 18 fit into 20mm.
Was sorting through a pile of fabric pieces and came across this fabric panel decorated with iron-on vinyl and eyelets to look like a microbit. It was supposed to be part of a bag, but I never got around to completing it. The eyelets are spaced to hold an LEDs string behind them. Now I'm thinking it might look cute sewn to the back of a denim jacket. #microbit#sewingproject
I got a tiny LED ring with 60 even tinier LEDs (CR2032 for scale) from generous and meticulous maker @maketvee a while back, and have been meaning to turn it into a wearable. Today I finally got around to designing a 3D printed pendant bezel. Next step is to select a controller and design a housing for the controller/battery combo that sits behind my neck so that only the delicate-looking ring is visible when worn. #ledwearables#ledwearable#leds
Finally, I shot a quick video of my #supercon2023 badge hack while waiting at the airport. I hand-soldered 280 WS2812B-1010 LEDs during #supercon in a resin printed diffuser frame. Maybe not my best idea because it took 1.5 days to solder them together, but I had awesome people around me who kept me motivated. And finally it worked. Thank you all for your great feedback during the con. #hackaday
Finally got to meet @maketvee in person since he's visiting Los Angeles, and to make things even better, got to have a small maker get together with @ItsMrJP and @Jorvon_Moss. It was a fun and nerdy evening - the absolute best kind!
