@film_girl @christianselig I use Music because it's part of our Apple One bundle (which is basically theft on Apple's part), but I can't understand how Music is still so bad. Why can't I search my Library and Apple Music at the same time?

A dentist in town has one of those movie marquees on his sign and he’s anointed himself the pun king of the city, but I can tell most of the jokes each week are ripped from tweets or Instagram memes.

It gives me a whole new appreciation for artisanal, single-origin, locally sourced original puns.

Not that anyone asked, but I’ve been using an Ottocast Wireless CarPlay adapter for about a month and am pretty happy with it. Nice to not always have to plug in.

Worth a look if you have a car that shipped with wired-only CarPlay.

Note that I was not at all happy with it until I unpaired my phone from the direct non-CarPlay Bluetooth connection to the head unit because it would get confused which to attach to at start.

@agiletortoise our 16-year-old will be getting my 2011 outback in a couple of months. She really wants CarPlay, and I think it might be safer, but I’m having trouble finding a way to retrofit this thing at an agreeable and affordable price.

Early in the pandemic, our Subaru’s car stereo system died. I checked all the fuses. They were all OK. I did a lot of research online. It seemed like we need to be replaced. Subaru didn’t have the units AND it was going to be thousands of dollars. We just switched to a Bluetooth speaker.

Today we had our suddenly failed air conditioning system repaired and…The stereo system works again. Apparently a relay in the car that is part of the AC electronics also feeds the stereo system.

@hotdogsladies I had to install an NVME hard drive onto the motherboard of our son’s PC a few months ago, and I barely made it with my aged eyes, shaky hands, and terrible lighting.

It was a stressful two or three minutes.

16yo and his girlfriend are methodically removing >15 stickers from the school issued Chromebook he has had since the start of the pandemic in 7th grade. It has barely worked for months, but he has not been willing to turn it in for a new one because of the stickers.
