in control flow, sequences encode the arrow of time.

branches explore actions in alternate timelines, and merges streamline them.

loops are the effect of time machines sending values back in time that replace their younger selves.

immutable values represent the past that we can remember but not change.

mutating a value creates an altered copy and erases the original from the historical record.

if trauma means approaching every person like the worst person you have met, then "tough" business people are masters at exporting their trauma as culture.

every "tough" business person started out open and honest, learned through their abusers that this position is called "naive", and then turned into a traumatized abuser themselves.

    i thought i'd update our LLVM codegen from 13 to 16, but i had to give up. they transitioned to opaque pointers, and all sorts of instructions now use a different notation. it's time i get rid of this crap.

    If you want to implement some sort of feature toggles/switches in an application, and that means you have a class and an interface for each toggle, which only has an IsEnabled bool property to check if it's on, isn't that a bit of overengineering?
