Did you know the command traceroute is sending "SUPERMAN" as data in the UDP packet?

The other day was learning about the difference between tracert and traceroute, and noticed that when sniffing.

Couldn't find anything online but the source code (added in comment) of where it sens SUPERMAN.

It just occurred to me:
my next Self hosting challenge:
A streaming music service!

I'm trying to ditch streaming of music like Deezer (the modded app doesn't work very well), and so I'm downloading tons of music to my laptop.
But what if I want it available on my phone too while I'm away?

Only limitation is that if I'm doing it on my Pi, I have less storage than my computer.

Need help with Ubuntu:
I have a Pause/Play button on my laptop keyboard that I want to work, and stop/play music or video playing in the background (it worked fine when Windows was the main OS).
Rn, when pressed, I just have this thing pops up (picture).

Any ideas how to enable those buttons?

Tried: settings>keyboard>shortcuts>sound and media
&
playerctl play-pause

both didn't work.

Boosts are appreciated, thanks :)

Did you know?
If you use #LibreOffice, you can save documents to be protected with a password, or encrypted with a #PGP key.

I didn't know that. I didn't see a similar option when using MS Word for example.

Just another reason to move to LibreOffice from MS office.

How can they even live like this??

Anyone knows of a Mastodon client for Linux,
that allows message splitting across multiple toots automatically,
and published at once?

Something like Fedilab for android has.
Tried mere website, and Tokodon but didn't find it there.
Tried installing Tuba, but it didn't open the browser, and didn't give me a link to paste. so couldn't log in.

Any suggestions are welcome.

thanks!

How much do you ask AI (such as #bing #chatGPT or #Bard) and share your feelings and dilemmas that happen in your life?

I sometimes do, used to do it a bit more.

Just noticed that Bing isn't as good as it's used to be.
I asked a question, Bing said f"a human might say {option 1} but maybe {option too} as good too. you do you".
Bard, on the other hand, gave a much more informative and decicive response, much longer, that I felt better reading. (comparison in comment)

Just talked to a friend for about 1.5 hours.

We talked about Silver Ticket (in Kerberos protocol), Arp poisoning, and about preventing them.

I suggest that we could use a separate Vlan for each computer connected to the switch, but he felt like he was missing on why this wouldn't work.

Do you think this is doable?

putting aside the extra work it'll give for network managers, and only considering the overall security of the thing?

kohelet, to Israel
@kohelet@mstdn.social avatar

I like how people who never even thought about Israel a year ago (let alone be here, talk with people from here),
suddenly think they know everything about inner politics, the war, the dynamics between the groups here, the army, the people, the Knesset.

Like, people please don't get over yourselves.
All you did was watch a stupid YouTube video, maybe read a popular Facebook post.
People actually live here, I'd suggest they know A LITTLE better.

Trying my luck here:
Anyone using Google Drive in their Linux's file manager?

If so, how can you open files in your own office suite, and not in a browser via Google Docs?

Saw a solution with an extension to LibreOffice, but it didn't work.
Also, open remote file (and choosing Google Drive) didn't work and said invalid device. Which seems like a common problem, but I didn't find a clear solution.

Please boost :)

Thank you all.

The Hotspot password was 1-8 and it was the first I tried.

lol.

Nice iPhone hotspot.
To my right a few seats away is someone sitting with a laptop so might be theirs.

Port Authority shows 3 devices connected (not including me). one of them only has an IPv6 address.
laptop + phone + something else.

I can see his phone or laptop screen from here. if I had glasses already I could also read what's actually there.

My sister shared a link (facebook) for short interview of people with Crohn's Disease.

Watched it - an OK video. didn't teach me a lot (unsurprisingly),
but one of the comments that made me laugh:

"Why not just cure it? It's possible and many people did it"

I screenshot it and replied text:
right-click on Crohn > details > uninstall

guys, I'm sorry to tell you,
but if you don't have psoriasis, you'll never experience what a true, pure orgasm is like.

Really, itching my psoriasis-flared area, gently gently, persistently and for a long time,
ahhh~
if I was alone I'd have moaned.
It's such a great feeling.

you do get some guilt feelings, but it's a small price to pay.

wonder if my next SO will have psoriasis too.
and then we'll itch each other's skin and~ imma stop here.

anyway, back to itching.

I just realized that learning Arabic via English (e.g. using Duolingo) is the stupidest thing I can do, considering I already speak Hebrew - a sematic language sister to Arabic.

I just throw away all the advantage I have by not learning via Hebrew.

need to find a Hebrew course to learn this language.

I think there's one at campus.gov.il

petition to make this the new high scosiety sentence, like the using arch btw one.

You just have to admit, PowerShell is way supririour (hu) to Bash and it's wrappers,

I'm gonna add a digital signiture to all my messages "I use PowerShell, BTE" regardless of context, destination, and if I really used powershell to send this message.
