Conservatives: “They’re trying to cram gAy AgEnDa down our throats.”
My Gay Friend: Works in an office. Pretty good with Excel. Plays golf on Saturdays. Likes cats. Has a boyfriend but still trying to decide if he’s ready for a serious commitment. Just wants to be treated like a regular human being.
I’d like to know from anyone who is treated satisfactorily whether they have any symptoms that persist and resist treatment, and if so, which ones. Ideally, I’d like to collect enough data to produce some sort of statistics (not scientific, of course). Feel free to use any format and language you like....
Edit: Resolved. Decorative brick is actually a chase and doesn’t need to be completely filled in. Thanks to @Death_Equity for advice on rebuilding the crown....
Sorry, I suppose I should have clarified that. The right side is the “gap”. Both flues are lined with clay tiles. The left flue is not visible in the picture.
I hadn’t thought of it that way. I suppose the decorative brick could be just considered a chase. I haven’t been able to find any similar examples so I wasn’t quite sure what I was looking at.
That makes me feel better. There was no crown initially. The flue tiles terminated flush with the brick inside the chimney cap. The old cap made cleaning and inspecting the flues difficult. It also had a fair bit of water damage.
I’m sure every attorney has stories about clients where they’ve wondered, “how can you be this fucking stupid?”
But at what level do you go, “you know what? I’m done practicing law. I didn’t go to law school and pass the bar so I could manage a fucking circus. I’m going to be a sheep farmer because sheep might be dumb but at least they don’t show up virtually to their hearing for driving on a suspended license WHILE DRIVING ON A SUSPENDED LICENSE!” Angrily swipes everything off the desk
Ah yes. Nothing better than spending a chilly autumn day in the marsh where I can spot the best looking mallard and obliterate his ass before he even knows what hit him.
If you’ve never seen a tarantula hawk before and then one day you encounter this 3+ inch long purple wasp dragging an equally large spider across the ground, it will freak you out a little.
Good God Almighty. If I worked on a construction job, you’d see a bunch of people trying to pound screws in with the head of a screwdriver. Meanwhile, I’m over here like, “No! What? What the hell are you doing?!Wait, did you just try to solder too boards together with a blow torch? Oh fuck. Now the building is on fire.”
And of course, management is like, “Why is the building on fire?? Isn’t this like the twelfth time the building has been on fire?”
Yes. Yes it is, because you geniuses fired all the guys who knew anything about construction and hired a bunch of people who were able to identify screwdrivers without asking them if they knew how to use one.
Now, if we were actually in construction, this would be completely ludicrous. But if you work in technology, it’s considered a “good business decision” because it has a “positive impact on the bottom line”. …for about 5 minutes anyway.
It’s not a good thing if you know what you’re looking at. Of course, the average investor doesn’t have a clue. Half the problem is that there’s a lot that can’t be conveyed in financial statements. I’ve worked for companies that I would never buy any stock in because it’s like you get there and realize that they completely destroyed any chance at long term viability for some small short term gains. Even if they’re profitable. Corporations that focus on building a high quality, sustainable business that aims to earn a modest profit are an exceptionally rare breed.
“Conservatives have an entire industry dedicated to complaining about not being allowed to say things they say all the time. Their victomhood is the entire brand…
…but, contrary to conservatives victimization complex, there is no organized cancel culture conspiracy where even the slightest misstep can one-hundred percent get someone on the right cancelled. But, actually there is. Oh, there is. One congresswoman, Liz Cheney, got kicked out of Wyoming’s Republican party for opposing trump. Yeah, as irony would have it, it turns out that when it comes to cancel culture, the ones who smelt it dealt it. There is someone cancelling people on the right. But the only one cancelling people on the right is Donald Trump.”
