Well of course I did survive the hideous anxiety, it never does kill me even though I feel like I’m going to die from it. Still anxious this morning but not as bad, it’s Tom’s birthday and we’ve had a nice time as he opens his cards and presents. It’s sunny-ish and a run day so I’ll get out there at some point. My primary objective for the day is to finalise my party playlist and send it to my sound guy. Super important! How is everyone else?

Now that I'm on a new instance, I guess I should do an #introduction.

I'm Anna, lesbian extraordinaire. I made a lot of plugins for FFXIV, I made Heliosphere (a website+plugin for FFXIV mods), I've made a pastebin... Just a lot of stuff that's caught my interest.

I use a lot of #rustlang and #csharp. I like to read #fantasy and #scifi on my ereader. I like TTRPGs, video games (#ffxiv), some TV and movies, almost all music, and my girlfriend.

I'm very left-leaning, and I believe everyone should have rights - equitable rights at that. (How is this a lefty thing to say and not just normal, basic compassion?) If you are bigoted in any way, I want nothing to do with you.

I don't know. I think I'm pretty average. If I get safe vibes from you, I'll probably approve your follow request.

So this is partially at people that think language doesn't change but also just really cool. I learned recently that R's in english are slowly disappearing. It's especially prominant in American English. R's are increasingly unpronounced.

It makes pronouncing German for English speakers very difficult. So I have been partially rolling my 'r's like a spanish rr as a crutch as I relearn to pronounce r's.

You know what's also really cool? the i in the personal pronoun "ich" in German is empty. You are not pronoucning the i you are pronouncing an empty vowel. It's also what makes German sound so choppy compared to Dutch. Every single space in German is this unpronounced vowel.

Isn't that cool? And proof that language changes constantly even if purists like to pretend it doesn't? It's one of the defining factors that differentiates British English and American English speakers. Weak rs!

Antennas.
Antennas are effectively custom timelines. They work approximately like watching hashtags, but they can look for normal text as well. You can add as many phrases as you like and the results can be filtered with an ignore list.

You can make an antenna that just shows posts from specific users and notifies you when they post something new, you can make an antenna that collects posts containing or excluding certain key words, or you can make an antenna that collects only posts with files attached. You can even make an antenna consisting of “Posts from specific users” with “Show replies” checked.

Setting up
You can set up antenna by going to the More! section on your sidebar, and selecting Antennas. Press Add + to create your first. This is where you can also manage & edit previously created antennas.
