Druempf would sweat when asked, "And what about the laws protecting citizens regardless of personal origins? Do you follow those as strictly as the rest?"

Bai would perspire when asked, "Are all the sculptures in your ancestral tree historically accurate? And if so, do you intend to alter them to be more sensitive to current politics?"

Valiant would go SNOW WHITE when asked, "So why do you keep anyone else from touching the Blood Throne?" and then immediately terminate the interview. Assuming he wouldn't try to terminate the reporter.

MC POV: you can change one thing about your life. What will it be?

As Kosh: That's a Faekindred question if there ever was one. The kind of question that has teeth and claws behind it. The kind of question with a bear trap in every consonant.

If I could change one thing about my life, I would end up changing my entire life. I would not be the person I am today. And I think I would much rather be this me than any other.

Think about it. I wish my father had actually loved me. If he did, he would turn me into one of his creatures. As heartless and cruel and selfish as he would. Rotten almost to the heart and soul. A devil on the outside and a true bastard inside. No, thank you.

If I wish that nobody hated a Hellkin... Gods, what a change. Not just for me, but for all those like me. Loved by our families. Welcomed everywhere... ah, but I would be trusting and soft. Victim to the first sweet-talking villain with honeyed words wrapped around poison to put in my head. That would be terrible for too many. No. I don't want that, either.

So many changes have consequences. Would I recognise my other self if Master Bai treated me like any other student in his Dojo? If the watch of Wolklippenstadt didn't follow me as if I were already a criminal? If anyone kind to me hadn't been kind from pity?

My life is an ugly mess full of ugly things done to me by people with ugly hearts. It hurts, but perhaps I am a better man because of it.

All that said, I could have done with a few more doses of happiness and enjoyment. Now and then.

I, a part of the Astarion Fandom, am well aware that that pale problematic Twink spends the entire game on the FIRST STEP of his redemption arc. If your Tav decides on redeeming him, that is.

I'm experimenting with the sourdough starter harvest this week. Something something monotony, something something enrichment... gotta keep the tiger entertained in their closure, y'know.

Since the budget is tight, I have to work with what's there. So I am equipped with:

  • The aforementioned starter
  • A literal bucket of salt [it's a small bucket all the same]
  • Eggs
  • Coconut milk
  • Shredded cheese
  • Olives
  • Roughly 2 kilos of stale-ish flour
  • Assorted herbs, spices, and cooking powders

So I gathered in a bowl:

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • A "sprinkling" of thyme [I had the thyme to spare lol]
  • A generous pinch of salt

All mixed as roughly as you like. To that, I added:

  • The starter harvest
  • 1 egg
  • "some" coconut milk [measure with your heart]
  • 8 pitted olives, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive brine

I made the mistake of mixing in the egg and starter before I chopped up the olives and added the rest in. That step may or may not be important. Experimentation will reveal the truth.

Since the resultant blob was a lot on the sloppy side, I added a loose handful of flour to firm it up better.

It's currently proofing while the oven [set to 150 Celcius] is preheating.
