of all the things YouTube has “contributed” to society, the need for YouTubers to game the algorithm by giving their videos click-baitey thumbnail photos of them reacting with mouth-gaping astonishment has gotta be the cringiest.

Calm Sunday morning. Did a long walk to clear the mind ready for new unwelcome pesky thoughts again 😅.

Did a lot of dictation using Siri, captured in Apple Notes during the walk for a couple of blog post ideas that have been swirling round my mind the last few days.

Settled on one of the names from a list I made for a simple personal blog and hoping to register the domain with three different TLD’s only to discover one of the TLD’s already got taken. Ugh!

New domain registered for .net and .me, (.com taken 🙄), luckily I’m not too fussed with .com TLD’s now even though they are the most popular. Now time to make a decision on which platform to host my ‘not so serious non-professional’ blog on!!

After carefully taking a deep dive over the past week or so checkin out Ghost, Micro.blog, Wordpress, Squarespace, Write.as, Tumblr…

I have decided to pull the trigger on Ghost despite my initial consideration to leave it to the ‘Pros’. It ticks more boxes for me right now. Perhaps this might encourage me to take it a lot more seriously!

Time to clean up the bajillion ‘test posts’ on the site and setup for real!

Blog cleaned up, short and to the point ‘About’ page and Introductory post written and published. The site is doing the bare minimum to start with.

Handles for the blog on a few social platforms created, although I’ll mostly use my personal account to post new stuff for now.

Today seems like a good day to launch a new blog! Right?
