Months ago I entered engraved scores of pieces I composed, each with their respective fields for instrumentation, date, pdf, etc.

Some months later I scanned all manuscript pages for scores that were written out, but had to name them with a title suffix: (manuscript)

I really want more organization and structure to my life and I haven't found any methods that seem to work for me. I want to write more but get so utterly distracted by a million other things the second I see a screen that I end up just reading or researching some random topic instead of writing about things that I already know

@liaizon it sounds like distraction is the main issue that may be preventing you from writing. you must have tried cultivating the self-discipline to write and only write for some uninterrupted hours ? I would explore this further. there’s no system, only action. i take inspiration from the great pianists for this type of thing. they basically sat down and worked tirelessly until the flaws in their playing went away.

's empty real estate is the poster child of wasteful spending. Nothing else comes close I think. To quote China's bureau of statistics, they've got somewhere between 1-3 billion unoccupied houses/units that they'll never be able to sell and that even their entire population cannot fill. That's.... staggering. That's 5 trillion dollars of value thrown into a black hole. Something will have to give. The financial market abhors a vacuum this big.

Just spent 20 frustrating minutes figuring out how to setup a new S3 bucket that could be used to publicly serve static files, despite having devoted an unreasonable amount of time in the past to solving that exact same problem when I built https://s3-credentials.readthedocs.io/

@simon i feel your pain. I am similarly re-configuring a local dev environment and discovering all sorts of changes that need to be made before deploying to production. feels like i’m doing a ton of work in order to actually do work.
