Liebe Nerd-Bubble: empfehlt mir mal eine gute Anleitung dafür, wie ich meinem Macbook beibringe, ins WIFIonICE zu kommen... WLAN-Verbindung geht, aber ich kann die login-Seite nicht aufrufen.

Erinnere mich vage, dass es da bekannte Probleme gibt durch IP-Adress-Kollisionen mit docker. Habe soweit ich sehen kann schon alles an docker-Kram ausgeschaltet, aber es geht trotzdem nicht.
Und ich finde nur Anleitungen für Linux... mit Tools, die mein macOS nicht kennt. Wer hat Tipps?

Aber immerhin einen Vorteil hat der Regen hoffentlich: weniger Pollen in der Luft. Mein Heuschnupfen-geplagter Kopf freut sich drauf 🤧 (Der Heuschnupfen ist dieses Jahr irgendwie besonders fies... hier regnets auch viel und trotzdem brauch ich schon die krasseren Medis, um überhaupt klarzukommen. Nicht auszudenken wie das bei trockenem Wetter wäre... O.o)

Einfach mal laut gedacht: Wenn's auf der #GPN22 so viel regnen soll, gibt's Möglichkeiten, die Wiese trotzdem zu nutzen?

Ich geh da jetzt seit ca. 15 Jahren hin und hab noch nie irgendwas an Pavillon o.Ä. auf der Wiese gesehen, sowas steht immer nur auf den versiegelten Flächen. Geh also davon aus, dass das ZKM (oder der GBA?) was gegen Konstruktionen auf der Wiese hat, aber weiß da wer Genaueres? Könnte man vielleicht Planen abspannen (wenn nötig auch ohne sie in der Wiese zu verankern)?

Ich hab das bisher so verstanden, dass die Lava-Wiese alles ist, was direkt and die Bundesanwaltschaft angrenzt.

Und tatsächlich erinnere ich mich auch daran, letztes Jahr mindestens ein Tarp auf der (anderen) Wiese gesehen zu haben.

I'd add "maybe try to find a doctor who can prescribe you paxlovid" and "make sure you don't do anything that makes your heart rate go up (above 100 or 120 or something, there's no generally agreed upon number, it seems to be individual) for a few weeks(!), even when you're feeling healthy again" to the recommendations.

I'm using the mail setup provided by the shared hosting service where I also have my websites. With my own domain.
What I'm always wondering about: My customer account at the domain provider needs an email address. And it sounds like a bad idea to use one that depends on a domain I'm renting from that domain provider. So I use an email address at a big corporate provider for that account.
How do you buy a domain without already having an email address at another domain?

Ansonsten vielleicht noch, wenn die Suche nichts brauchbares ergibt: Die Frage im Fediverse posten. Irgendwer anders hatte bestimmt auch schonmal das gleiche obskure Problem. Und oft hilft es auch schon beim Verstehen, die Frage mal schriftlich auszuformulieren :D

(Ich würde außerdem meine Kolleg*innen fragen, aber das ist leider nicht als allgemeiner Tipp anwendbar.)

Kein zusätzlicher Inhalt, aber ein weiterer Weg, ihn zu sehen: Die Tooltips mit Auszügen aus der Doku, die in IDEs (z.B. PyCharm) angezeigt werden. Hilft mir zumindest oft im Arbeits-Alltag.

Ich lerne gern mit Beispielen: Manchmal hilft es, den Sourcecode von vorhandener Software (es gibt ja viel open source Kram in Python) anzugucken, die irgendeine Sache macht, die ich auch so ähnlich machen will.

Anyone else here doing stuff with on an board?
I got through the installation and I can edit and run code in the web editor now... but that stores the code directly on the board, which is rather inconvenient if I want to do things like put it in a git repo, and use an IDE for editing. I could edit the code on my laptop and then upload the files to the board through the web editor, but that seems very tedious.
Is there a tool that does some kind of automatic sync for this?

I'm currently catching up on the MCU and I'm not exactly a fan of the Hulk. Not because Mark Ruffalo isn't playing him well, but simply because I don't find the character very interesting.

A useful trick that I don't remember where I got it from, but I use it for all my outdoor bag (and some other things, like a rain cover for my bike trailer) sewing: If you don't want to bother with the silicone tape that industrial makers use for sealing seams in waterproof fabrics: after sewing, put some liquid glue on the seam to re-seal the holes and soak into the thread, and let it dry. I use "Uhu Kraft", but any flexible waterproof glue should work for this.

Huh. Anyone ordered a #YubiKey lately? Did yours also come with an obvious fingerprint smudge on its contact surface?

The packaging is apparently undamaged.

I've contacted Yubico support about whether that's normal or a possible sign of tampering. Let's see what they say.

I got a Yubikey in January, but as far as I remember, there was no smudge like this on it 🤔

Hmm, maybe it's from some kind of manual testing/QA in the manufacturing process? But I'm just speculating.
