Ich muss ein bisschen grinsen. Bin alt genug, um mich noch an die Kritik zu erinnern, als vor 30 Jahren die Windows-Taste auf der Tastatur eingeführt wurde. Zusammen mit der Kontextmenütaste, die jetzt durch eine "AI-Taste" für Microsofts Copilot ersetzt werden soll. Der Aufschrei jetzt klingt ähnlich.

Ehrlich gesagt: I don't care. Die Menütaste benutzt eh fast niemand für ihren ursprünglichen Zweck, und Tasten lassen sich rebinden.

@marcel @adfichter Responsible disclosure geht immer von der unwahrscheinlichen Annahme aus, dass die betreffende Person die erste und einzige ist, welche eine Schwachstelle findet. Als Enduser und Admin möchte ich aber selber beurteilen, welche Sofortmassnahmen notwendig sind. Deshalb: Full Disclosure sofort!

@Jain @adfichter @marcel Wir hätten die Möglichkeit gehabt, wirklich sensitive Dinge auf einer dedizierten CPU laufen zu lassen. Oder gewisse Daten gar nicht preis zu geben. Also eine informierte Entscheidung zu treffen, statt von Geheimdiensten nach gusto ausspioniert zu werden.

First test of an E3D ObXidian nozzle with some fairly abrasive matte material.

I had this roll of filament sitting on my shelf for over a year after it had already ruined a pair of regular brass nozzles.

Let's see how this goes!

Die Welt, auch die Schweiz, müsste von Menschen mit einem ausgesprochen logischen Denkvermögen und einem IQ von über 150 regiert werden. Ich bin sicher, es gäbe viele Probleme, Konflikte und Kriege nicht. Es ginge uns allen viel besser.

Es ist ja gut wenn viel in die Sicherheit von eVoting-System investiert wird...das ändert aber nichts daran, dass der GESAMTprozess bei digitalem Wählen (Stimmbürgerin- Endgerät (Smartphone/Laptop)- (manipulierter) Browser- eVoting-System) stark attackenanfällig ist.

The "New Outlook" demands that when adding your account, you also give Microsoft a copy of all your Gmail email, contacts, and calendar data.

The "Learn More" link confirms:

"Syncing your account to the Microsoft Cloud means that a copy of your email, calendar, and contacts will be synchronized between your email provider and Microsoft data centers."

The possible alternatives are either explicitly made not to be heard widely like the #fediverse or clones of twitter with the same problems all over again.

@aral It is very much necessary to reach people who won't engage and even people who don't want to be reached with political messages. This is because disinterested and badly informed people are a majority of voters, and thereby determine the course of any democratic country. In the physical world it's the freedom to distribute leaflets, put up posters in public and make oneself heard with protests. Such low-cost political messaging is needed in the digital world, too.
