@joel I agree Newpipe can be a hassle. According to the link below the maintainers have trouble updating and rewriting the code due to lack of resources (unfortunately a common problem in FLOSS development). Having said that I'm currently using the recently released 27.0 by enabling beta releases in F-Droid and it works fine for me.
For all people here that use #Squeezebox and Lyrion Music Server. There is a community firmware update for Squeezebox Radio, Touch and Controller. I wrote a blogpost why and how to update to the latest version: 8.5.0.
@simon I know the barrel connector is a known weak point of the Squeezebox Radio. On the plus side the Radio is pretty accessible and modular which increases the chances of a successful repair. There is a good diassembly video on YT but you've probably seen that.
Hey #maker Community,
what's your current favorite CAD tool/framework for 2.5D (as in lasercutter or simple wood sheet CNC) ?
Preferably for linux or web :3
With squeezebox.com permanently closed it's actually a great time to buy a #Squeezebox device and run it on your own server. I noticed that a lot of people are currently selling their devices against great prices.
@simon Squeezebox Touch: 50 euro or less.
Squeezebox Radio: 25 or less.
Setting up a server is not hard. A Raspberry Pi and a little knowledge of the terminal is all that's needed. A larger storage device is also needed if you want to store your own music.
