#Seattle friends, Save Denny-Blaine Beach (action to take by tomorrow 12/6)

Seattle Parks & Rec is proposing to build a children's play area at Denny-Blaine Beach. They've received over $500k from an anonymous donor to do so.

Denny-Blaine Beach is a historical and current nude beach frequented by queer and trans people. There is a growing movement to save the beach and move the children's play area to a different park. https://linktr.ee/savedennyblaine Obviously, this is being seen as an attack on the queer and trans community by a wealthy person.

The community meeting about the Denny-Blaine Park is tomorrow, Dec 6 @ 3201 E Republican St (MLK Fame Community Center) at 5:30pm.

They HIGHLY recommend emailing your comments to dennyblaineplayarea@seattle.gov to ensure it’s read at the 12/6 meeting. They don't think there's going to be time for people to speak at the meeting, so emailing today is a great option.
