I’m really sorry y’all, but when everyone kept asking me if I was on Bluesky (and I do cross post there) and I said I am but I’m not totally sold over Mastodon the people and their really idealistic techy policies were specifically why I was worried. I’m always willing to try!

@hacks4pancakes that's interesting because I've found a huge community of trans people on mastodon and we have real meaningful discussions about difficult topics. And I'd never experienced that on Twitter.

Although I also know there are some more activist involved trans people or people who financially are hurt by a smaller audience who are scared off by the more difficult engagement patterns on mastodon. But I don't think the same community would exist exist without the different engagement patterns here.

I suppose it's an example of how one tool just doesn't work for everyone.
