The 🌶️ chili gods performed today.

First time I've seen anything but piman and shishito at the homecenter, and there was just one tiny little basket off in the corner with one type each. Some had crazy scoville numbers, I avoided the 45,000 : )

i have lost count of how many times a week i wish i had brought my copy of "joy of cooking" with me to japan 😢 i never bought a new copy because there aren't cheap ones at used book stores to be had—with someone's handwritten comments / notes in the margins!—and i do NOT want a digital copy 😔

Twins. But, my old remembered copy was from ... maybe the 80's?
I bought a new one last year and it is NOT the same. Not the indepth bits like diagrams of a side of beef and it's different cuts. Nor the classic recipies I remember. 😢

My oft used standbys now are: 'Moosewood cookbook' and the internet/youtube/famichi recs.

What cookbooks do you use often?
