this is a stupid story, but, I wanted to watch an episode of Columbo, and I picked one using my algorithm for picking pretty good episodes of long running serial shows: season 3 (when the show's had some time to settle in to a groove) episode 2 (a regular episode in the series) - and it was really good

later, after watching an episode I didn't like, I thought I'd go find lists of the best episodes, and S03E02 is considered by many to be The Best Episode

so I guess my algorithm worked

I've absolutely watched shows that didn't really win me over with the first few episodes, but I came back to them later and liked them a lot: Season 3 Episode 2 would have won me over (The Office, Parks and Rec, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia)

Columbo specced all of his points into PERCEPTION and INTELLIGENCE and CHARISMA, but didn't leave a lot of space for WISDOM, so he has just harangued his vet to identify a mysterious sound that his veterinarian helpfully informs him is "snoring dog"

In the book Snow Crash, "The Raft" was a sea country built out of hundreds of yachts, fishing boats, barges, and sea garbage all loosely tied to each other and a huge aircraft carrier. The refugees on the individual rafts were constantly at war amongst themselves, sinking and bringing down other boats with it, severing ties with one another - I bring this up because I think that Snow Crash ALSO predicted the #fediverse

The HTML5 export for Godot 4 is badly, badly broken on apple devices, in ways that they won't be able to fix, possibly for years

Godot 3 has a significantly smaller footprint and works perfectly on these devices.

But I do miss those sweet sweet Godot 4 features (async, it's async, I want async so BAD) and I'm worried that Godot 3 is going to moulder and gradually die.

Do I build for deprecated-but-stable or do I build for modern-but-janky-as-hell?
