Mageblood is cheap this league, so I set myself the goal of farming one. Bought it today for 105div! #PathOfExile
The most fun part of setting my build up around it was rolling my flasks. For now, I'm using Quartz Granite Silver & Quicksilver with suffixes granting armor, cast speed, life regen, and bleed/corrupted blood immunity. Some of it will definitely change as I continue to upgrade my build.
"John, after breaking up with Mary – his girlfriend of thirteen years, – met Sally and lived happily ever after."
i can't decide if the em-dash-into-comma-em-dash is pretentious nonsense or actually a really cool grammatical cheat-code that allows you to infinitely combo supplemental facts into a single sentence while staying visually coherent. it's probably both.
Got these two absolute gorgeous beasts in today! 🥰
What is there left to say about Shadow of the Colossus?
So I'll spend my time on the criminally underrated Prey by Arkane.
If you haven't played this one yet, please do me a favour and pick it up if you have even the slightest interest in sci-fi adventures.
It's amazing and deserves all the praise it receives and then some!
@OutofPrintArchive I played Prey on PC and it was such a fantastic game. And with a few unique features you don't usually see anywhere else, like the zero-G portions. Also recommend!
1964 hard bop/post-bop jazz album. I have fond memories of performing "Cantaloupe Island" in my high school's jazz band. "The Egg" is an odd one—never quite sure where that one's heading, which is part of what's so captivating about it.
@EighthLayer I played and loved this. The feel of moving about was brisk and fun. There were tons of side things to do besides go up the mountain. Everything about this game, however brief, was quality.
@britt I'll suggest his Norse Mythology for you, then. It's pretty much a direct translation of the central myths so the book has chapters that are self-contained which keeps things moving. At least for my poor attention span.
@EighthLayer Some games, like in the Elder Scrolls series, the little books add to the lore and atmosphere. But others like Pillars of Eternity just keep piling on the lore until I can't care anymore about it. But the real treat are games like Planescape: Torment where the writing is good and it reinforces the gameplay. I've also heard good things about Disco Elysium.
Internet funny man Neil Cicierega has made plenty of great things over the years: The Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny, Potter Puppet Pals, Ariel Needs Legs, etc. Here he created lighthearted pop about strange subjects, such as reanimating a pop star, Lovecraftian love, and Gef the talking mongoose. Standouts include "Touch-Tone Telephone," "Sweet Bod," and "Reaganomics."
The Apocalypse Tetralogy marks my first Vinegar Syndrome purchase. Polish dystopic sci-fi sounds like a good time to me, and the trailer and descriptions sound promising.
The other three from Criterion Collection are movies I've already seen and greatly enjoy. Two black comedies (Brazil, Dr. Strangelove) and a fantastic thriller. (Blow Out)
