Upgraded the homelabā€™s 10gb switch to the UniFi EnterpriseXG. Not only do I have more 10gb ports now, I also have far fewer SFP+ modules in use, and the switches are all matchy matchy.

Also, I swear the whole rig has less latency now. I canā€™t prove it, but it sure feels snappier.

wanted my next car to be an EV, but everyone i talked to said it's a horrible experience if you don't have a home charger. hopefully by the time my R2 is ready either i'll be someplace with built in charging capacity or the infrastructure will just be more in place for the public.

@h_thoreson I agree with everyone.

We ended up installing a level 2 charger in the garage, and I wouldnā€™t want to own one without it. We get cheap off peak pricing, and itā€™s super fast. Normal level 1 charging is very slow, and the pricey DC charging is hard on the battery.

After 6 months of use and 75 charging cycles, my iPhone 15 Pro Max still has 100% battery capacity. The 80% charging limit really works.

@2du The phone does it itself once in a while to calibrate the battery meter, but otherwise, nope. The Max has a big enough battery to easily get me through the day.

@ambergrey Iā€™ve played one! I canā€™t remember the serial number, but it was in the first 100 production guitars. Pretty cool, but I prefer my Silver Sky. Sounds dumb, but it was just another strat if you ignore the historical significance.

@ambergrey I worked for this big pawn shop chain in college, and some old lady ended up selling it to us. Her husband purchased it new in 1954, but never stuck with learning. It ended up sitting under a bed for most of its life.

It was only in our store for one night as the owner of the company came to pick it up the next morning. I hung out for a few hours after closing to play it as much as I could. No clue who it went to after that.

So ya, kind of a fun story. šŸŽø

The docs say that you have to open up 443 and 80 so it can create certs. Has anyone heard if you can disable that and host it behind an existing proxy?

Interesting find tonight. If I block IP addresses to and from #russia in #opnsense, media from #universeodon is blocked. I simply see placeholders instead of actual media. I can also look at #sidekiq logs and see the timed out calls to media.universeodon.com. I thought #universeodon was hosted in the #uk. Is this some weird geoip hiccup?
