@spinecracker I worry about the same thing, but I go for that similar philosophy of notes and “views” rather than making the whole note vault dependent on it.

@spinecracker sure. So I try to populate properties/metadata in the YAML for notes that I know I’m going want to interrogate in future. I don’t really keep a proper PKM but for my coaching notes I always have date, coachee name, etc. Then I can use a small a Dataview snippet to list out all the previous sessions in my current session note, so I can quickly check back during sessions.

We need to stop talking about “AI taking jobs.” AI has no autonomous agency or predetermined destiny in this regard. It masks the true story that corporate leaders who see employees as a cost rather than an asset think they’ll make more money for themselves and shareholders by replacing them with machines. It’s an old story.

@ivory I’m seeing a lot of missing profile pictures on Ivory iOS and MacOS. Doesn’t seem to be a particular server and they appear when I open them in a browser. Resetting cache sync in the settings did nothing. Or do I need to log out and in again?

@ivory thanks. I did wonder this but could see how that would be the case. Aren’t they download and cached from the originating profile instance?

I should never watch screen adaptations of books I love. Dune is probably the exception to that. But finished 3 Body Problem yesterday and haven’t felt that disappointed since Ender’s Game.

So the coffle (coffee waffle) turned out to be quite unappealing visually and the coffee tasted burnt. More experimentation required.

Maybe I need to write to James Hoffmann.

@leah @nicole oh that’s a good idea (though I don’t do syrup on my waffles). It may be that I need less coffee. I tipped a whole espresso in one waffle’s batter. Probably an espresso per batch is better. The milk should offset the burnt taste.

@bobdoto @leah @nicole more traditional here is powder sugar and/or Nutella. I’ve got a sweet tooth, but the syrupy sweet thing I’m not so fond of. I struggle with things like baklava. Give me chocolate any day.

Just finished listening to @pluralistic reading his book The Internet Con. it’s very good. Should be mandatory reading in school and higher education.

And now I really want the tech industry to take a 10 year sabbatical.

Hey #neurodivergent #pkm friends.

A teenager (15) close to me really struggles with some aspects of schoolwork. Especially remembering and reassembling content (history, comprehension, formulas, etc.) or transposing maths text questions into equations, etc.

She’s been assessed for ADHD/ADD, but if doesn’t seem to be that. She can remember songs and lyrics amazingly, so not entirely a memory issue.

Does anyone recognise this pattern? Any suggestions for helping her find a good way to learn?
