Over the weekend I rebuilt my personal site in Twenty Twenty-Four and core blocks.

Replacing the theme alone took the site from nearly 3,000 unique accessibility errors to just over 100. This is why choosing the right theme is the number one way you can get your website on the path to accessibility.

    Looking into the possibility of adding #translations to my #WordPress #website and wondering if anyone else is doing so. I think initially I'd be using one of the automatic translators, but would eventually go to manual so I can make sure the style fits my own. My website is about #woodworking but I welcome recommendations from anyone who is using a translation service for their website.

    @chris We've lived a lot of places with snow. You just have to make yourself do it. Invest in good boots and snow pants, bundle up, and go. Also, you could get cross-country skis or snow shoes.

    Heading to San Francisco for the GAAD (Global Accessibility Awareness Day) Foundation #GAADYS award ceremony. Chris, Steve, our whole team, and I feel so honored that our #WordPress plugin, Equalize Digital Accessibility Checker, won a GAADY this year.

    There are lots of guides to "making WordPress fast the easy way". So I wrote a guide to making WordPress fast the HARD way: https://danq.me/2023/11/04/fast-wordpress-the-hard-way/

    Key takeaway: WordPress can be at least as fast as a static site generator (but still retain the value-added features of a CMS), so long as you're willing to put the work in.

    @aardrian We have been doing beers, soda, and mocktails, I don't see why we couldn't do something coffee based! Generally it's always something bottled or canned so we can all drink the same thing and talk about it. Want to come on as a guest and introduce a coffee-based beverage?
