I hope that Sony allows some levity here, the game already can function without linking, as it has been. it would be, development-wise, trivial to reverse it, nothing in the game actually relies upon it.

Sony just has to bite the bullet and do the right thing.

Yeah, I saw a review where the guy was like "what mechanics are there are really polished" and to me that was saying that they can really feel an absence of the "rest of the game", and so its probably not that far along.

The post says this: "This is our main way to protect players from griefing and abuse by enabling the banning of players that engage in that type of behaviour. It also allows those players that have been banned the right to appeal."

I find that of dubious justification, but that's their explanation.

It depends on what the vision is supposed to be. If the dev was making a hentai game, but had the scenes censored, then that fundementally destroys the purpose of the game and ruins the point.

If it was a game like Stellar Blade which seems like it has a lot more going on in terms of story and worldbuilding, combat and death, then the sexual parts seem almost more exploitative and distract/clash with the primary themes. I have not played it and cannot say absolutely, though, in this case.

Then there are games like the Witcher 3 where sex plays a moderate part in the life of the protagonist and adds to the realism and grit of the world, and so sexual imagery actually adds to the game in that way.

So, I think it all depends on execution and perceived intent.

Edit: none of this is to say I support censorship, I think as long as content is clearly marked it should be up to the player what they want to see, I'm talking about what the censorship impacts in the game experience.

I've only played Witcher 3 and found a lot of the interesting parts of the world to be the darker parts you don't see in other fantasy games, a lot of the themes of the quests are very heavy, like the bloody Baron's quest as an easy popular mention.

Therefore, the addition of places like whorehouses or other quests related to that deepen the realism of the world in a way that something like Skyrim would absolutely never, and if those bits were ever censored out it would reduce the immersive realism of the world, to me

It's not really the downvoting that's the whole reason, I also want people to understand and enjoy the joke. If I make a joke, and I knowingly leave an /s off, then I'm accepting that part of the audience won't get it, and if I'm just trying to be a dick about it and the only person intended to laugh is me, then okay, but I like to make other people laugh and be happy, so /s it is.

It's clumsy, sure, but I'd rather be clumsy than come across as an ass or not make any sense.

The more weapons they add the more diluted and redundant the balancing will become, we'll just see how far they keep going like this. If they continue releasing weapons at this rate for a year more it could get really weird.

They've been pretty keen on balancing weapons regularly, so I don't think they'd do that or else why even waste the time balancing and creating contention with the community over it, but time will tell

The first one was actually worse because it was only DLC there, no earnable in game currency. In 2 you can easily farm it on trivial missions if you don't mind a little tedium, but you also just earn it as you play if you explore.

I think it's okay, for 99% of the balance changes I've agreed even though some of them I kneejerk disliked because it was a nerf of a weapon I liked.

The biggest thing I'd disagree with is that they haven't balanced all the weapons I think they should, but the changes they have made im not really mad about

Supercredits are what you use to buy the battle passes themselves. 1,000 a pop. At 119 hours in I have bought the two recent ones with super credits, but I bought the other one with real money on release.

I have close to enough to buy the upcoming one as well with supercredits.

You cant pay for warbond medals, only supercredits, which can buy the warbonds themselves (battle passes), and the armor pieces that rotate through the superstore, but nothing else.

Edit: the superstore armors have unique visuals, but so far I have not seen one that has unique mechanical effects, though I could be wrong, I don't look in there much

On PC there's a button at the lower right to buy with super credits, if you don't have 1,000 it might try to take you to the store, I'm not sure

Interactive Loading Screens - High Hell

Developing interactivity is effort and an investment. Most developers put up a simple loading screen, maybe some text like rotating tips, and a loading indicator. Until 2015 a patent on interactive loading screens may have made developers and publishers cautious and decide against developing interactivity....

Disgaea 3 on the Vita had a loading screen with a prinny spinning like a ballerina. If you tilted the Vita the accelerometer would make him slide across the screen accordingly, like a spinning top

Before they just never ricocheted back at me, they just flew randomly off based on the angle.

I've played since then, I've had some shots fly straight back at me but it's a percentage chance or something, certainly not every single shot, and I tanked a reflected autocannon shot and it didn't kill me, so I think there's some damage falloff after ricocheting as well, so it's not too crazy
