A big biometric security company in the UK, Facewatch, is in hot water after their facial recognition system caused a major snafu - the system wrongly identified a 19-year-old girl as a shoplifter.
You remind me of something different but related. I noticed in Windows 98 that it would store a different setting for BMP wallpapers. And BMP wallpapers would also load in faster. So when you first set a BMP wallpaper, and then change it to a JPEG, it would remembrr both of threm. And it will still briefly display the BMP one on startup before it loads the JPEG one.
If it can help people to quit smoking, I’m all for it. But I hope eventually they get to quit vaping too so they at least won’t have any of the harmfull effects of those.
I’ll have a look at it in the morning. I can’t seem to find much usefull by doing a little google search. I know I’ve seen it on tv and it wasn’t some kind of fever dream. Seems it has to do with the soft tissue.
That’s not what it’s being used for 90% of the time. It is seen as a healthy alternative to smoking. Sadly, we cannot confirm if it’s actually healthier since there have not been a lot of long term studies yet.
