Pan biscuits made with Crisco! And you're right about the Country ham and red-eye gravy. Mom's favorite I made for her 1x/month. Split the biscuits (4) and placed them open-face on a plate, piece of ham on each, and gravy over the lot. She had a large plate with a deep well, just for this dish.

This 4:00 clip comes close to how I make buttermilk biscuits. Loathe that it's by SOUTHERN LIVING and features a banjo soundtrack, but it's the best short clip
