In Flanders Fields

In Flanders Fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Hey language-learners, what's your tip for improving your ear? I can read French pretty well, with a glossary, and I can write it OK, but my hearing is garbage.

@ZachWeinersmith listen to radio France Inter. When I moved to France it helped me get attuned to the sounds of the language. You have to immerse in the language. It’s the only way.

Apparently a very rich man has been diagnosed with #cancer & his treatment has started right away... see all those stories about a crisis in the #NHS & specifically in cancer diagnosis & treatment, well that's just left wing trouble-making, isn't it.

@ChrisMayLA6 I imagine someone has done a cost benefit analysis on the expense of changing monarch (again) and the cost of keeping him alive and found that it will help the NHS if he queue jumps.
