Annie, to architecture

Landhaus of German Architect Otto Kohtz, built in Berlin-Dahlem in 1922/23, 100 years ago. I took the photograph, because I wondered about the damaged busts on top of the columns in this perfectly balanced ensemble.
Old photos show that the portico's busts were removed and covered with mortar after the building was sold in 1958. Research has shown that the uncovered sculptural images are portrayals of Otto Kohtz, his wife Agnes Kuban and family members, so now I guess that it was difficult to restore them properly.

Morning Musings:
Nearly a year ago, I started exploring my city in a mindful way, capturing little things that caught my eye along the way. Since that time my feelings about what we have been conditioned to find beautiful has changed dramatically.
Sunrises aren't always over a tropical paradise. Sunsets happen in places other than mountain peaks. Wildlife isn't always perfectly posed. Nature is more than prairies and forests. Cities are every bit as beautiful as the countryside.
From time to time something catches my eye, and the photo is something most would delete.
I wish there were more imperfect photos of our imperfect world.

Lucky you. to be able to see them in the wild. Since the US is such an industrialised country today, you sometimes forget that it' has such wild natural places like in Florida, the Grand Canyon etc.
