I don't drink #coffee, and likely never will (I'm a lifetime member of Team Tea), but I'm puzzled about why so many people use machines with little plastic pods filled with industrial-processed muck.

You still have to fill the machines with water, so are they any easier than simply boiling the kettle and using a French Press? Does what comes out of those machines taste anything like actual coffee? (Sincere questions.)

@david_megginson it’s a lot easier. The water just sits there in the tank, you just put in a pod and hit a button. Instead of boiling water, filling the press, waiting 10-15 minutes, straining it out, then cleaning the press.

I don’t use one because I drink too much coffee for a single-serve machine to be useful, but I get why people do.

@david_megginson Not really, they're almost the worst way to make coffee. The way it recirculates and boils the coffee tends to give it a burned flavor. A cheap $20 drip pot will make a better pot, and be easier too.

I used to use one while camping, but you can get really good instant coffee today, so I just use that.

I have long felt that no matter what, Donald Trump would never see the inside of a cell. Now with this judge in D.C. I'm starting to second guess my opinion on this a bit. She seems like Trump's worst nightmare. I could see her finding him in contempt and jailing him for a time for social media posts or communications that violated her rules, not to mention how she might sentence on a conviction. Yes, unlikely, but significantly above zero now, I suspect.
