Elecia( @logicalelegance ) and Chris( @stoneymonster ) talk about the Embedded Online Conference, their experience learning Zephyr, and some listener questions.
In this #EverythingOpen talk, Research Engineer at #Audinate, Elton Shih, takes us on the journey of transitioning from #FreeRTOS to #Zephyr RTOS, covering strategic decisions, technical intricacies, and highlighting how Zephyr's openness aligns seamlessly with Audinate's vision for the next generation of converged audio visual solutions.
The speaker just said: "...Mediatek heled us (NXP), because until then we were the only ones using ARM, and when they jumped in we could discuss ARM-specific problems with them."
This is what a healthy open source.project.looks like 👍
in the photo below, strangers on a train. i never knew these people before the trip and never saw them after. but folks, we had a BLAST, laughing and talking at a few different meals. america can be a cool place, and amtrak my restore your fsith in it
talking about the California Zephyr Amtrak -- cross coujtry from SF to Chicago got me taking a trip down memory lane.
Building a remote water level readout for my irrigation tank using one of those chonky sewage/~industrial tank sensors and the accuracy is impressive. Paired with a good ADC I get rock solid mm level accuracy. That would give me about 150ml volume resolution.
#Zephyr 3.5.0 is out with a bunch of #security fixes related to #vulnerabilities that I’ve reported in the past months! Expect more details on the @hnsec blog in a few days.
@zeroiee Not with a Pico, but we’ve used it with an NRF chip before.
Key argument for using #zephyr was Bluetooth support, which worked great on the NRF chip we used. That plus loads of great SW like encrypted and signed OTA updates made for a good developer experience and fast development speed.
Okay so I now only have one full day before my actual vacation! I'll be likely posting less from Friday since I'm heading off to Asia for two weeks with my wife and I'll mostly be touristing around.
While I do that, though, I still hope that you'll be adding to the funds for Diabetes UK: https://tiltify.com/@flameeyes/gone-with-the-wind
I might even start ordering the hardware while I'm on the trip if we reach the right milestones!
The littlest bringup. I now can interpret the PDO_SEL from the UPD301C devkit (EV11L78A) in @zephyr .
This is not particularly useful right now, but given how this is the first time I approach Zephyr, I'm happy to have gotten to this simple step as it is.
