William Hunter McNab's Drill Hall on the corner of Yorkhill Street and Carfrae Street in the Kelvinhaugh area of Glasgow. Built in 1901, it's a mix of castellated Tudoresque and Arts and Crafts styles.

@bazzargh@Andy_European Yes, that does seem to be the origin of it, and there seems to be quite a few other similar ones on old pubs around Glasgow and beyond. 👍🙂
Former 6th Battalion Highland Light Infantry drill hall on Yorkhill Street in the West End of Glasgow. Designed by William Hunter McNab, it was built in 1901.
Ghost sign for the Royal Hospital for Sick Children on Old Dumbarton Road in Glasgow. The city's first dedicated children's hospital, it originally opened in 1882 in Garnethill. In 1914, it moved to new premises in Yorkhill in the West End of Glasgow where it remained until it was replaced by the new Royal Hospital for Children on Govan Road in 2015.
@thisismyglasgow there was also an interlude in the late 60s when the kids hospital had to be evacuated to Oakbank in Possil, after the discovery of structural problems in the building at Yorkhill.
The former Overnewton Public School in the Yorkhill area of Glasgow.
Designed by John Burnet in a Netherlandish Gothic style (which is more obvious from the north elevation) and built in 1876. This is a lovely old building by a great Glasgow architect, but it's tucked away from the main roads and unless you live in the local area, you're unlikely to ever even know it's there.
@heatherconnie Definitely nice to see it being used again, and that the conversion to residential flats seems to have been done rather well so you can still see much of the original architectural details.
@lordofthemoon No drone involved. Instead, I was hanging off some railings on the road up to the West Glasgow Ambulatory Hospital (the old Yorkhill Children's Hospital) which is on a neighbouring hill. It gives a very nice view of the university, although you do get some strange looks from passersby!
