Just published a minor update (version 5.1.1) to JavaScript Database (JSDB) that optimises the custom data type¹ serialisation code by removing a redundant return statement:

This change is backwards compatible and shouldn’t require and updates to your projects, including the ones you have in Kitten (which uses JSDB internally).

Anyone have any web frontend recommendations? I've only ever used HTML/JS, but I'd like to use a framework to maybe make things simpler/quicker(?) I come from a Python background if that helps!

Before picking any framework, I think CSS is most important. After that, I'd go for htmx (and use your Python knowledge for the SSR) as I think that's where the web should go, and for Angular / React if you want to get paid right now.

Eventually, people may stop writing, stop filming, stop composing—at least for the open, public web. People will still create, but for small, select audiences, walled-off from the content-hoovering AIs.

If we continue in this direction, the #web—that extraordinary ecosystem of knowledge production—will cease to exist in any useful form.

The problem for searching for a search engine that doesn't use AI is that you are using an AI search engine to search for it.
I'm not sure, but I think this may act as a metaphor for far too much. IDK, maybe I should do a web search on that.

Watching The Doors live at The Hollywood Bowl (1968)¹ and hacking on Kitten² and Domain³.

All in all, not a bad way to spend a Saturday afternoon in my book.

(I’ve almost got database backup/restore working in Kitten and I’ve just finished porting Domain to the latest Kitten with JSDB 5⁴.)
