Hmmm... did anyone ever think about making a sort of local bulletin board system with a small computer/old phone/sbc? The machine provides a wifi hot spot, but when logged on people only have access to a single local website where they can post messages to one another.

One could even have messages carried between multiple of these systems style. Kind of an alternet.

Visited the chained library at Hereford today, loved the older book boxes. Fine old school tools.

stupid idea: bluetooth without internet connections. clients reside on the phone or computer of participants, and peer automatically with one another when close by (or maybe with a public access point), exchanging messages and propagating messages further with every contact. private and public messages can be read via a simple app

which actually sounds like something someone somewhere might already have created.

There's more than just one way to share videos.

Go home wifi, you're drunk.

My phone got over 600Mbps immediately before this.

Intel's Wifi 6 drivers on Linux, ladies and gentlemen.

@SocialistStan @lauren @Shachihoko @HistoPol @eff @team Even if they try to ban instances from doing that, #ActivityPub relays work and there's no reason instances can't be moved to #Tor, #I2P or other #AnonymizationNetworks & #mixnets

You could also add full #AsynchronousCommunication support to relays including #sneakernet
