Pretty good progress today. Managed to assemble 50 panels (200 boards) Bottom sides so far. It is the simpler side but I am glad the new stencil seems to prevent a short I was seeing regularly form between two specific capacitors previously. Will save me a bunch of rework time! #electronics#opensource#fpga#GlasgowInterfaceExplorer#manufacturing#smd
Continuing progress on the second general batch. Assembled a bunch of top sides, soldered in connectors and tested them. Putting on serial number stickers is the last thing before packing. We now have 120 Glasgows ready for the next batch. #electronics#opensource#fpga#GlasgowInterfaceExplorer#manufacturing#smd
The reason why I was skeptical about the Essemtec printer was because we already have a manual stencil printer and that thing is in most cases worse than just taping things to the table. It is wobbly and bends. Does not provide good board support. If you are thinking of getting one or similar, save your money! They are cheap for a reason. (Yes I am currently using it to stencil backs of Glasgow but that will change soon) #electronics#manufacturing#smd
#idgaf about #taylorswift or any other associated alleged multi-millionaire/billionaire/trillionaire.... #mute button getting a workout today endorsing some bitch gives nothing to the world other than #yuppie love songs & #carbondioxide and endorses rightwing fascist joe biden, yes trump is a rightwing fascist also... the #oxymorons by #swifties are proving how #daft they actually are to #politics... #smd!

#electronics folks: #SMD resistors come on tapes spaced at 8mm. Which means, if I had some measuring device that was marked in multiples of 8mm, I could easily count components by measuring length.
Does anyone make such a measuring stick/tape? Probably to be useful it'd have 12mm and 16mm markings on it as well.
If I measure 0.5Ω on an SMD resistor that's still in place (it's way too small for me to remove and measure, smaller than 0402)... should I use 0 Ω or 1 Ω as equivalent replacement? #electronics#smd#soldering#repair
I've been printing these handy little SMD Component Magazines and Rails this weekend.
First time I've tried PETG and the results have been good, though I did run into an issue with the filament being much springier than the PLA I usually use and it jumping off the spool and snarling on the spindle during taller prints... managed to avoid that with a cheesy improvised mechanism on the printer...
After cleaning up the flux it looks like I did a decent job #soldering this after all.
Most difficult was the drag-soldering on the square #smd chip and I almost goofed it up.😁
I love the segmented #retro look on this. #Electronics#DIY
