I went to create this magazine this morning while watching WTC final, and I was told the name was already taken. Clearly someone else knew we'd need a new home for /r/Cricket sooner or later.
I'm really excited to jump on the Activitypub/Fediverse train, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around how it works. Kbin is federated (or its supposed to be, apparently DDoS protection is hampering that?), but I'm not sure how I can sign up with my Mastodon account. I already have one, @ArchieBAntlers , and apparently...
There's a reason people add site:reddit.com to their google searches, and the top story about how joesmith42069 got 50k karma on their totally dank meme isn't it.
As we in the U.S. are on our Christmas-in-July mini-vacation, let us celebrate the departure from yet another evil empire who abused those in their charge for the sake of their own ego....
I think most of us who moved here from Reddit are enjoying our time here on kbin.social. We've left a lot of the riff-raff behind us and made new friends with intelligent, thoughtful members of kbin, Lemmy, Mastodon, etc.....

I think a key thing going forward is that the fediverse/whatever comes next becomes a new repository for community sourced information/discussion/resources/etc
