Sure, there were a few exciting moments and the make-up (quickie) sex of the last four songs. But overall a fairly uninspired set with fairly uninspired play. The good news is this is par for the course when the band tries to play a single-set show, and the next 3 nights are all standard two-setters.
Is there anything worse than 1-set Phish? I mean they absolutely cannot deliver without a two-set framework. Something about one set totally fucks everything up and takes away any sense of patience or committing to improv.
But it shouldn’t have to be that way. Just play less songs dammit...
Had one of my normals who knows nothing about them ask me what my favorite #phish song is and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a very hard time answering that question. I want to ask follow up questions to help frame my answer

Well that was interesting seems my email security falsely flagged my @mastohost emails as phishing for credential harvesting. Had to release these quarantine reports I filed myself to my own email and reclassify it.
While it's certainly happened before, a tritone modulation in a #phish jim is rare enough that I can't name a single one off the top of my head. And it happens 2x in the same jam!
This Bowie features a 3-minute intro that is creative as hell, fierce Type I jamming, some jamming that straddles Type I + II, Greek God-level Fishman throughout, unexpected modulations + a fire ending.
And you can argue that it is the 3rd best jam OF THE SET.

I am one of a dying breed, a relic as it were, being a person who still physically writes down the setlist of every #phish show I attend. Been doing it since I knew enough to be able to be dangerous and have a now 33+ years working model for how I do it so this is not gonna ever stop*.
These days I don't carry a [writing] pen on me all the time for a variety of reasons but that might change as I found something to make it all more easy by combining BOTH types of pens!
Alright here is the story of how I came to give the #phish song Prince Caspian the nickname Fuckerpants.
11/29/97 II contained the famous Runaway Jim which had me muttering to myself and high fiving strangers but in 1997 you could afford to be selfish and later in the set when they dropped into a 4th quarter Caspian I rolled my eyes hard.
This was my 4th show of the fall tour and my 3rd Caspian which felt excessive. It was also my 17th in a barely over 2 years. I was done.
I posted the set list as soon as I got back to my parent's house in Sudbury as I always did after a show BITD when I had an internet connection. #phish
In my quasi-official style of the day I wrote "Prince Caspian (commonly called Prince Caspian)" like it was some kind of official name for it with no other explanation in the post.

The next day my good friend @Cdirksen started a blaze from one tiny spark by also referring to it as Fuckerpants in a post and it was off and running.
It spread faster than I ever could have imagined. It wasn't overnight but it really wasn't very long until every single serious fan would know exactly what you meant if you said Fuckerpants which is wild and hilarious and my crowning achievement in life. #phish
But the part of the story is how the word Fuckerpants came into existence. The story has probably morphed in my head over the years as all do but the premise is my dear friend Peter Bothe's little brother Paul (aka The Bullitt) started cussing up a storm when he was five and their father sprung into action. #phish
Finally watched the Zappa documentary. Enjoyable. Sent me down a rabbit hole, incl. researching Zappa / Phish stories. Saw this absolute gem by Scoot430 on PT. 🤣🤣 my man knows what’s up. #phish#zappa
