Any other let’s plays that also publish their work as a podcast so I don’t have to hack a method of turning YouTube channels into podcasts? I know about gorillas play through but I’m looking for others. I turn all YouTube channels into podcasts anyway to avoid the ads and other cruff, but anything on #PeerTube? #Gaming#Games#YouTube#Podcasts#Podcast
@weirdwriter I think that is very rare, primarily because podcasts more often than not are really just audio. I know there's video podcasts but more often than not they appear on Youtube because thats where the people are, and you end up where you started. Podcast lets plays feels like a blind thing first and foremost; gorillas is in that sense the exception to the rule in that they I believe actually nuked the majority of their Youtube content. plus, RSS means no sweet sweet ad revenue which you yourself already said you're depriving youtube creators of, so yeah ...I feel thats a bit of a niche you're targeting. Really curious if there's more creators that do this though
I'm going to try to expand the list of #peertube instances I follow from my server. I've noticed the servers I'm currently federating with tend to lean towards being highly technical. It's not that this is a bad thing since that also reflects my personal interests, but a little variety doesn't hurt.
@DavBot Oh, I got what you meant. By "spread" you meant dispersing. I took it to mean they were spreading out as in attracting new creators, which was the opposite of what you meant. 😅
I think after #DEFCON I will invest more time to enhance my #Mastodon alerter for when I am live on #Twitch, and see about how I can do the same with my @matrix server.
I do have to spin up my AWS environment for my cloud labs, and setup Twingate connectors for Zero Trust Network Access. Once I get the restreamer setup, I will work on adding Simulcast to #YouTube and #Owncast or #Peertube (thanks to @DavBot hosting me), but will require reworking my OBS scenes to be compliant with rules.
I’m currently looking for a new PeerTube home. Diode.zone is trying to scale down and since I have a large account with 4 channels that’s 216 gigs in size, I thought I’d help by finding a new instance.
If you have a #PeerTube instance, or know someone that does, who can handle my four channels, and would like my content on their instance, please let me know.
Thank you for your attention, and please boost this post to extend that attention.
Riddle me this #peertube
So the account export feature packs up your content and account and creates a nice little archive to dl and upload to the new instance.
Ok.
So where does that file live when the user's content is on object storage and exceeds the server's local disk space?
The docs don't bring that up. The way I see it the export feature could brick a server.
I've scheduled a live streaming of #Doom2 for today at approximately 19:00 CEST, on my #PeerTube account. I'll share the link here moments before it begins. I intend to stream for one hour, until I finish the map I'm playing at 20:00 CEST.
#pnpde
A friendly remind, that the Fediverse, is not managed by a wealthy organization or business, funded with corporate sponsorship, paid ads, or subscriptions. The Fediverse is a group of Fedi Instances (servers), managed voluntarily, but regular people, who like yourself, wanted a better social media experience.
Your administrator pays for real servers, with real-world cost, such as storage and bandwidth. The more users, the more storage and bandwidth, the more the cost.
If you're able, please consider reaching out to your Fedi Administrator, and inquire if you can make a voluntary contribution.
I would love to see more live news streamed by people out in the field to #peerTube but I also understand the constraints and lack of reach that it would have.
