As #Nationwide shifts from a 'work form anywhere' policy to a #hybridwork requirement (to include two days in the office), those #workers who took their employer at their word & shifted their lives to allow them to take advantage of the shift may be now regretting these changes.
Sure there is a transition period for three months, but it goes to show that when your employer offers you a change that seems to good to be true... it likely is (too good to be true).
#Emmer (MN), the #House maj whip, was elected as the #GOP pick on a 5th ballot in an internal race that drew 9 #Republicans. It’s not clear, however, that he has enough support to be elected on the House floor. To prevail, Emmer would need a majority of the full chamber.
Emmer, who has been in #Congress since 2015, previously chaired the #National Republican Congressional Cmte — the House campaign arm — for 4 yrs.
Yuck, #Nationwide Building Society, #UK, have changed their #logo from their classic house and tree to a dangerously close to fascistic horribly stripped down and stark two colour unrecognisable shape.
Oh wait, I see now, it’s an evil harshly cackling crow cawing in front of the dying sun as it spreads blood and doom over the land…
“However, the updated #COVID19 booster is not intended for everyone. It’s for people in high-risk groups – those who are age 75 or older, pregnant or immunocompromised, said Offit, who serves on the FDA’s expert panel that reviewed the vaccine companies’ data... The general public should not expect to need to receive the latest COVID booster, Offit said.”
> One of the largest banks in Australia says it may freeze and terminate customer accounts that engage in certain types of “unacceptable account conduct.” National Australia Bank says a new policy launching in November... #banksters
Froze my longstanding a/c for a £200 purchase through an app. When told it was ok they wouldn't unfreeze the account without invasive history I refused. Switched banks.
Got compensation but the hassle and worry they caused was way beyond that, all over a £200 purchase which was entirely legit.
A few months later I can't access my new account because the app no longer works on my phone, although the new Bank's website says it should.
