Next week we go 600 miles around the virtual Charlotte Motor Speedway in the MCRL Circuit Cup Series. The longest race on the schedule, this will be true test of patience and endurance.
Typically, this event is filled with patriotic pageantry as it is tied to Memorial Day week. We pay tribute to those who have died protecting and serving our country with the names of the fallen adorned on our cars, with wraps of red, white, and blue. And while we at +MVT Racing commend those who have served, we do not condone violence nor military offensives, and we do not celebrate any such activity. For that reason, we have chosen to honor a service member of the USAF who also shared in these values - Senior Airman Aaron Bushnell.
Aaron served as a USAF DevOps engineer, and was a fierce advocate of justice. He recognized that no country should be supporting the destruction of another, and spoke out against the US Government's support of Israel's ongoing attack of the Palestinian people. In his final act of protest, he self-immolated in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC on February 25th, 2024, shouting "Free Palestine".
He died defending peace, calling attention to US policies that are harmful to not only our country's integrity, but to the lives of others. His sacrifice, though tragic, should not be forgotten, and his message should be spread far and wide.

All-Star Challenge
We started off strong, winning the pole for the All-Star Open, then leading all 100 laps to the checkered flag. This secured our spot in the 200 lap feature race.
Our #7 Vegan Easy Camaro started 12th of the 19 cars on the grid, and worked through the field, avoiding spins and eventually made it to the front. With 50 laps to go, we gave up the lead and opted for new tires, which set us back a bit to 9th place. It was a gamble that didn't pan out, as a crash at the front left us with some left front damage. It wasn't severe, but affected the handling nonetheless.
As the laps wound down, we found ourselves in 3rd on the final lap, with the leaders just out of reach. And to add insult to injury, the car fighting with us for the 3rd position, lost control and slammed us into the outside wall, collecting multiple other cars. We'd not be able to finish the race, and would be scored 13th at the end.

Week 13 - Darlington Raceway
Bad luck continues...
Not the most ideal starting position, but we made it work. Avoided trouble and worked our way up to 8th place at the end of stage 1.
Stage 2 was more of the same, scoring 6th place stage points. Our car was fast on the long run, and we felt very confident heading into the final stage.
With 20 laps to go, we were gaining on the leaders and our tires were holding up nicely, but disaster struck as we were collected in an incident, suffering right front suspension damage. We were unable to recover and finished a lap down in 19th.

Our #7 McCruelty Camaro has some speed in it, but it will all come down to tire management tonight.
We'll be running this special paint scheme for our Wednesday night race at Dover in the MCRL Circuit Cup Series. We'll be catching some glances for sure!
We've been having a rough go of it over the past few weeks, with major troubles in 3 of the last 4 races in the MCRL Circuit Cup Series. Bristol, Richmond, and Martinsville were all disastrous, so we're hoping to turn things around this week at Texas Motor Speedway.
Not our best track, but as long as we can keep it clean, a top-10 finish would be a welcome result.
