So, since genuine Huy Fong brand sriracha chili sauce has been very hard to find on the East coast, we've been trying to find alternatives that actually have as close to the same flavor as that Rooster sauce.
Enter new challenger "Thai Authentic Sriracha Chili Sauce." Talk about a generic name.
We found it at #DollarTree and, for that price, figured we'd try it out. Turns out - it has almost an identical flavor to the Huy Fong brand sauce.
However, it is not as thick. Think more like a thin hot sauce such as Cholula or Tabasco as opposed to regular Huy Fong sriracha chili sauce, which is closer to ketchup in thickness. That said, this mixed into another sauce or cooked into something, works perfectly as an alternative.
Also, can't beat that price.
