Just saw #Manjaro and #OrangePi are teaming up to release the OrangePi Neo a Linux powered handheld. I can't wait to get more info, we need more Linux first handheld options. I'm still hoping @system76 @starlabs_computers @tuxedocomputers eventually offer their own handhelds.

Throwback to 2020 when I received the second handheld PC I had ever owned, the Win Max. I got Linux up and running on it right away.

magine it's 1997 and you're a Japanese businessman. You're traveling the country for work, and want to update your personal web page with photos of interesting things you see. You have an early digital camera you bought, and you have your work-issued PDA, but obviously without a PC such a multimedia task can't be completed? You're going to have to wait until your get back home...

The GPD Win Mini reportedly has a great screen, touchpad, controllers, keyboard, and performance. But the controller area gets uncomfortably hot during long gaming sessions on pre-production models. GPD is said to be working on a fix though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA07EV6kdbE

After all these years and recent new like the or this litte embedded powered device is still the winner in comparison for me. Battery lasts more than twice as the other two, lighter, better to type on, faster in terms of real world usage b/c of bloated linux these days...
Thanks a lot @DragonBox for the awesome !

tooting with #tut on my #ClockworkPi #uConsole ...
nice little device with very clicky keys, great housing but way to little battery
power for a #RaspberryPi Compute Module and not so great wifi. You can get about 3
hours battery life with wifi on.
so all in all a real (bulky) replacement for my old zaurus ;)

Bought something I really wanted when I was a kid: a classic . This one is Palm IIIx, released in 1999. It's powered by the Motorola DragonBall EZ processor running the 68000 instruction set at blistering 16 megahertz, served by whopping 4 megabytes of RAM. It runs off two AAA batteries which can last up to a month or two. The monochrome UI is controlled by a stylus, and it uses a simple handwriting system called Graffiti.
