The #redditblackout has moved to a new stage... from a two day blackout to indefinitely shutting down... to people moving away entirely.
Yes, r/startrek has lifted off from #reddit and moved to #lemmy -- and with it, a realization that we need an easy way to help people find their new, old communities that have moved from reddit to #lemmy#kbin and whatever else pops up.
I started a quick and dirty list that you can share and contribute to (PRs welcome!).
For today's #MusicMonday I'm sharing a gem from the #Destiny2 OST called "Journey", the theme that accompanied the unforgettable opening of Destiny's Red War campaign.
Do you ever wonder why certain songs bring back such vivid memories? Well, according to research, music engages the areas of the brain that are involved with paying attention, memory recall, and emotional processing. #Gamers, what's your favourite video game soundtrack, and what memory does it evoke? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYfe9caNqfA
Please use alt texts. Pretty please! Some people never seem to use them and I feel bad boosting their posts as I feel they're not inclusive to ALL gamers. 😔
Some of us need screen readers!
I don't care if you're not good with the alt texts, as you use them more, you'll learn and get better. But pretty soon, I don't think I can keep boosting posts without ALT Texts!
A question for #blind#gamers:
My PC is now 11 years old, has onboard graphics and a Core I5-3570K CPU. It runs games like The Vale just fine, but are there any other #accessible#Steam games that you think might work on my ancient relic of a system? Also ones that support a controller? I'm having a lot of fun using a now defunct Stadia controller as an input for The Vale and also Blind Drive. Thoughts welcome. Thanks.
