#Oxfam has warned that Palestinians displaced by the Israeli war on Gaza are living in appalling conditions, with #children often going hungry for a whole day and thousands sharing the same toilet.
A food survey by aid agencies in May found that 85 percent of children did not eat for a whole day at least once in the three days before the survey was conducted.
US State Department official resigns, says US report on #Gaza inaccurate
A U.S. State Department official who quit this week said on Thursday her resignation was precipitated by an administration report to #Congress that she said falsely stated #Israel was not blocking #humanitarian aid to Gaza, prompting her to resign in protest of President Joe #Biden's Israel policy.
Stacy Gilbert, who served in the State Department’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, was a subject matter expert working on the report.
"There is so clearly a right and wrong, and what is in that report is wrong," Gilbert said in an interview.

Alexander Smith: “I cannot do my job in an environment in which specific people cannot be acknowledged as fully human, or where gender and human rights principles apply to some, but not to others, depending on their race.”
"The @LemkinInstitute reiterates our condemnation of the use of #starvation as a weapon, we are appalled by the current #famine occurring in #Gaza. As one of our recognized patterns of genocide, man-made famine that is used to weaken or destroy a group is known as #Genocide"

More than 70 international organisations are calling on all authorities and international institutions to officially declare a famine in Gaza, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has said in a statement.
The entire population in the Gaza Strip (2.2 million people) are experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity, with half of them in the disaster/famine stage.

I’m most concerned about collapse of the marine food chain due to rise in ocean temps. Three billion people rely on marine life for food, without a ready protein substitute. The next step in that disaster would be climate migration refugees, and given the political climate on migration now, we would see wholesale death. Add in the rising sea levels, and billions will die.
It’s going to be fast and horrific, and humans aren’t the only species to go. We’ll take with us ALL sea birds & mammals that depend on the marine food chain. We’re already experiencing the Sixth Mass Extinction Event, and rising temperatures, shortages in available water & food will only exacerbate death.
The United Nations has suspended food distribution in the southern Gaza city of Rafah due to lack of supplies and insecurity.
It also said no aid trucks have entered the territory in the past two days via a floating pier set up by the US for sea deliveries, and warned that the $320m (£250m) project may fail unless Israel starts providing the conditions humanitarian groups need to operate safely.

"Individual members of Israel’s security forces are tipping off far-right activists and settlers to the location of aid trucks delivering vital supplies to Gaza, enabling the groups to block and vandalise the convoys, according to multiple sources"
