@cassidy oh, the one from July. For a second I thought we got two new EPs from Yellowcard in the same year and I didn’t know how I was going to keep my cranium in tact 🤯 Yellowcard was/is one of my favorite bands. Thank you for bringing this back to my attention though because it’s a good EP and I haven’t played it on loop enough times yet 🎧
Artists who jump from drawing Halloween ghosts to drawing winter holiday stuff completely miss out on drawing emotional autumn jellied cranberry scenes. #cranberries#emo#autumn#comic#comics
"Benediction‘ tells the story of my brother and I driving to Norfolk, Neb., to bury my mother’s ashes. It’s a small farm town north of Omaha. Touché Amoré started our last tour in Nebraska, so I flew out early and made this with Chris Willmore filming and Sean Stout editing." (Jeremy Bolm)
Lyrics Extract :
"It was a sunny day in Norfolk
Next to the tree that caught your eye
I walked the ground you grew on
With my brother at my side
I'm still taking it all in
I'm adapting to this loss
People say that with time it gets easier
But I just think that they are wrong"
Touche Amore, Benediction (from Stage Four Lp, 2017)
je doute que vous ayez déjà entendu une bénédiction hurlée de la sorte :
May the lord
Mighty God
Bless and keep you forever
Grant you peace
Perfect peace
Courage in every endeavor
Now, we're covid-cautious people. My kid was just old enough to attend concerts when the pandemic hit, but we don't (normally) do crowded indoor spaces.
When #MAIsForLovers was announced at an OUTDOOR venue outside #Boston, it was perfect!!!
Her friends aren't into emo music, so I agreed to go with her. I don't follow the music myself, but it's okay, I'd been to my share of punk/alternative concerts in my day. 😂
An excited fan even chatted us up in line for the bathroom without batting an eye at our #masks.
Am I nervous about having put us at risk for covid? Yep.
Am I thrilled my teen finally got to have a blast at her first concert? Yep.
Am I especially pleased that the lead singer of #HawthorneHeights offered up heartfelt words of support and encouragement for the crowd that seemed custom-made for my teen who needed to hear them? YEP.
