If you were buzzed or run off of the path by this driver on the springwater corridor last night, , the good news is at least we have a few decent in this town.

I'm having a hard time believing, not that a agency would come up with a plan that was to sweep the broken glass and gravel off of the sidewalks and leave it in the bike lanes for a few days before sweeping it up, just that it wasn't done with intentional malice or disdain toward people on bikes. (months after it snowed and they graveled everything while plowing the snow onto the sidewalks)

and yes, that does look like an Oregon PW plate on the back of that pickup, so yes they should have one on the front, $115 fine. But sure, we'll just "share the road" with people in 6000lb missles and expect that they're paying attention and following the rules. #DriverAccountability

I have an idea, let's require drivers register their vehicle and have a clearly legible number on the front and back #DriverAccountability https://oregon.public.law/statutes/ors_803.540 $115 fine

rear of vehicle, Oregon plate 387LEE

@sam wonders how to respond after a bad driver interaction:

Q6. When you have a dangerous interaction with a driver that doesn't involve a crash (drivers throwing things, pulling in front of you and getting out of their car and attempting to stop your bike, etc.) do you call the police, file a report later, get away and then do nothing, or something else? What factors go into making your decision?

#BikeNite A6 @cainmark @sam @moira @ascentale I keep a chronological list of license plates / descriptions and info about the incident (usually a traffic law violation) with video for most of them. I would report it to insurance companies if they would let me, have logged some on sites like nearlykilled.me, but not found a productive outlet for #DriverAccountability info. Oregon law allows civilian citations but it's an onerous process, probably starts with the driver learning your address 😟

Vehicles missing their front license plates, maybe something we need to discuss with the mercedes dealer. Also I would love to get a cut of these tickets for parking on the wrong side of the street without the required number of plates on your vehicle. #DriverAccountability

@ai6yr @meganL @daihard @ascentale @sam too bad we can't #BanCars based on the behavior of the worst drivers. Or somehow have a system of licensing, registration, insurance, and #DriverAccountability.
