A cicada at the botanical garden needed a little help and affection to recover, and it rewarded us by hanging out with us for ~15 minutes. Later, a green anole was surprisingly bold to just pose for pictures. There was also a water snake by the waterfall in the Japanese Garden, but I failed to get a good picture.
Something that always charms me about our anoles is when they show off this striking eyeshadow.
If you didn't know, green anoles have the ability to change color! They're sometimes called American Chameleons (though they're not Chameleons, but true #lizards).
They have a range of greens, yellows, blues, and browns that you might find them wearing, so I always feel lucky to catch them when they're rocking this look!
